Shubham Agarwal
Scientific Researcher · SPRING Lab, MPI-SP · Bochum, DE
I am a scientific researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy, working in the SPRING Lab with Prof. Carmela Troncoso. I completed my Ph.D. at the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security under Dr.-Ing. Ben Stock, where I focused on the security of Web applications at scale.
My current projects sits at the intersection of Web Security, Data Privacy, and Stakeholder Analysis — with a particular focus on understanding how developers, organizations, and users navigate security and privacy trade-offs in practice. Outside of research, I enjoy reading, experimenting with self-hosted infrastructure, and occasionally going on travels I didn't plan well enough.
If you are a student looking to write your Bachelor's or Master's thesis, or interested in a research internship in these areas, feel free to reach out via email.
